Come To Fetlar To Volunteer

RSPB

The RSPB based on Fetlar have regular opportunities for volunteering on the island through their well-developed volunteering scheme. This offers a wonderful chance to work on the island with a world class organisation. Please contact the RSPB directly for details of opportunities. More information is available at the RSPB website.

Fetlar Community Association

The Fetlar Community Association runs the Community Centre and there are always opportunities there. The bar is open every Saturday and is staffed exclusively by volunteers who each do there bar duty and tidying for their week. When events take place there are also volunteers needed in the kitchen to prepare and serve meals ranging from tea and homebakes to full sit down meals.

The association also has its own high quality PA system and recording equipment, which offers additional opportunities.

Fetlar Museum Trust

The Fetlar Museum Trust operates the Fetlar Interpretive Centre. All the Trustees are volunteers. There are significant opportunities for working with the Trust as a volunteer working on a range of Historical and Heritage projects, or if you have the time and would like to become more involved, why not put your name forward to become a Trustee. Please contact Katy Jackson the manager of Fetlar interpretive Centre for more details of volunteering opportunities. tel 01957 733206
